The bold and curious Dachshund is always up for a fun adventure, especially if it involves exploring, tracking, or digging. This is an energetic breed with a pleasant personality. Daschunds are generally independent but are happy to spend time with their family whenever they’re invited.
They tend to be reserved towards strangers and often bark. Although they’re typically good with children in the family, they may snap at children they don’t know.
These dogs do well in apartments but, since they’re hunters by nature, they still enjoy the occasional romp in a field. Moderate leash walks and games played in a fenced-in yard are usually sufficient for their daily exercise needs.
