The Border Collie is best described as a physical and mental bundle of energy. These dogs absolutely must have extreme exercise and a challenging job to do every day. Otherwise, the results may be disastrous, leading to extreme destruction and dangerous compulsive behaviors. However, if they’re able to release this energy in a productive way each day, they’ll be loyal and dependable companions.

Border Collies are one of the most obedient and intelligent dog breeds on the planet. They’re protective and reserved around strangers and may chase other animals. These dogs cannot live in an apartment and need access to a safe, fenced-in backyard where they’re free to run as much as they need. Their long coats also need to be brushed at least twice a week.
