Bernese Mountain Dog
The Bernese Mountain Dog makes an excellent family companion. It’s extremely loyal and devoted and doesn’t do well when isolated from family activities. They tend to behave like a puppy for the first three years of their lives and slow down rapidly after they reach about six to eight years of age.
These dogs are calm, easygoing, and quite sensitive. They’re gentle with children and are often friendly with family pets and other dogs. They tend to be reserved with strangers.
This breed has moderate exercise needs, so plan to take it for a decent leash walk or a hike every day. You’ll also need to brush it once or twice a week and as often as daily when it’s shedding.
