Alaskan Malamute
Independent, strong-willed, and powerful, the Alaskan Malamute loves to live a very active life. These dogs are also fun-loving and very family-oriented. As long as they get enough exercise every day, they’re generally well-behaved in the home. However, if they don’t, they will quickly become frustrated and destructive.
These dogs are usually sociable and friendly with strangers but they may be aggressive towards other dogs, pets, and even livestock. They can sometimes be domineering and have a tendency to howl and dig.
Bred to be sled dogs, the Alaskan Malamute loves the cold and snow. They overheat easily and often don’t do well in hot climates. These dogs also love to run, so a large fenced-in area is a must. They also need to be brushed at least once or twice a week, and more frequently when they’re shedding.
